The newspaper The Ozmapolitan has been published periodically for over a hundred years. Begun by The Reilly and Britton Co. of Chicago in 1904, the purpose of the newspaper was primarily to advertise the newest Oz books to the children of the United States.

The two Ozmapolitans from the early 1900s may have been written by L. Frank Baum. The three from the 1920s were written by Ruth Plumly Thompson. The three from the 1960s and 1970 were written by Oz illustrator Dick Martin. And the three Hungry Tiger Press Ozmapolitans from the 1990s were written by David Maxine.
